Veronica - Goodness Grows Speedwell
The Veronica ‘Goodness Grows’, Veronica spicata, or also known as Speedwell, is an easy to grow perennial that adds beauty to any garden. ‘Goodness Grows’ is the longest blooming Veronica in its family. This upright perennial produces wonderful violet-blue flowers from June till September. With its dark glossy green foliage, it has a plant height of 12” and a spread of 12-18”. ‘Goodness Grows’ needs a full sun area with well-drained soil. Deadhead the flowers after the first bloom to prolong its bloom time. Veronica can be used as a ground cover, in mass plantings or along borders. Dianthus - Blushing Maidens The Dianthus 'Blushing Maidens' Dianthus Hybrid, has beautiful blush pink blooms and silver foliage. With its grassy blue-gray foliage and profuse blooming time, ‘Blushing Maidens’ is one not to miss. Dianthus ‘Blushing Maidens’ has a plant spread of 6-8” and a height of 6”. Dianthus will bloom from mid summer to early fall. In order for a longer bloom time, deadhead the blooms continuously throughout the summer. Dianthus needs a sunny site with well-drained soil, but will tolerate some shade in the afternoon and humidity. These fragrant, spicy dove like flowers look wonderful as a border plant, rock gardens, along walks or paths, for edging and a definite in cottage - a very pretty plant. |
