It is also perfect for flowerbeds, shrub beds or colorful containers. Aster ‘Alma Potschke’ makes an excellent container plant or front of the garden feature and looks great with ornamental grasses. The flowers blooms in early fall to frost. The Aster ‘Alma Potschke’, Aster novae-angliae, displays a beautiful bright neon rose pink daisy-like flower that are about quarter-sized. Aster ‘Alma Potschke’ does require full sun, but can take some afternoon shade, in a moderate soil range with good drainage that does not become extremely dry during the summer. ‘Alma Potschke’ is very attractive with a plant width of 34-40” and a height of 18-24”. ‘Alma Potschke’ is best planted in masses, borders and natural areas. Scabiosa - Blue Diamonds With its green foliage, it has a plant spread of 12-18", and it is disease resistant. It is best to plant Scabiosa in full sun, with well-drained soil and should be watered regularly throughout the warmer months to increase its overall performance. Deadheading after the first bloom will encourage repeat bloom time. ‘Blue Diamonds’ is great for attracting butterflies and hummingbirds and does excellent in rock gardens.
