Astilbe - Visions in White
Mass astilbe in groups in partly shaded gardens for maximum color and impact. Astilbe needs well drained, but moist and highly organic soil; humusy forest gardens are a perfect example of where these plants will thrive. These spring blooming beauties are ideal for borders, containers, and gardens on the edge of woodlands. The bright clear flowers reflect dappled sunlight in woodland gardens for a dazzling effect. Throughout the summer lacy deep green foliage adds ferny texture to garden beds long after the blooms have faded. Astilbe is admired for its attractive foliage and elegant flower plumes. The Astilbe Chinensis Visions in White, 'Astilbe Chinensis PPAF', produces soft white flowers that float above lacy green foliage. ... more
Geranium - Southcombe Double They do best in sun, but will tolerate some degree of shade. This plant would look wonderful in a pot on a sun-drenched porch and is also deer resistant. Southcombe Double blooms almost non-stop throughout the summer, into fall. They are perfect in the perennial border and work well as a ground cover too. Geraniums are grown in almost any soil as long as it is not wet. For the most part, cranesbill are long-lived and do not require a lot of care. There are only a few double-geraniums in cultivation and don't look like a Geranium at first glance. The Geranium Southcombe Double, 'Geranium oxonianum', displays fully double, pure pink blooms that sit atop bright green stems. |
