The Basil Greek Mini Yevani, 'Ocimum basilicum minimum', is a basil lover's treat. Yevani has a strong, spicy basil flavor that is a compliment to any tomato dish. The small mounding plant is excellent for containers. This small-leaved, 12 inch diameter, 6 inch tall mounded basil doesn't give anything to other basils in flavor. It has a very strong basil taste and fragrance that makes "a little go a long way". Yevani basil is an excellent border plant. . Basil is used in so many foods, it is hard to mention them all. It is used in Italian foods and pesto and pasta sauces. Fresh basil makes a nice tea, an excellent vinegar, and tastes great fresh with fish. Plant 1 to 2 weeks after the last average frost date. Lavatera - Tree Mallow Mixed The Lavatera Tree Mallow Blushing Blend, 'Lavatera trimestris', has 4 blushing colors of profuse pink, rose, white, and magenta/pink flowers that cover this tropical looking annual hedge or screen plant. Lavatera prefers full sun and any well drained garden soil. Very fertile soil will produce more foliage than flowers. Deadhead spent flowers to prolong bloom time.
