Coleus - Ruffles

If a coleus plant is allowed to seed, it has completed its life cycle and will die. These plants will do best in temperatures above 55 degrees. Coleus plants are so colorful that many people keep them and use them as a house plant. Frost will cause them to die immediately. Coleus must have good soil drainage. Poorly drained soils and excessive watering will damage coleus. The brilliant colors explode in sunny locations. Plants suffering from "wet feet" will be stunted, leaves will turn a muddy brown, and leaf margins will be scorched. Flower buds should be pinched off as soon as they develop. The coleus plants are a tender perennials. These new, bigger, sun loving varieties have revolutionized contanier gardening. For zones 10-11, this plant can also be a perennial. Daisy - Soprano Purple For zones 9-11, this plant can also be a perennial. They have large purple flowers with a compact growth habit. The Daisy Soprano Purple 'Osteospermum hybrid', exhibits slightly cupped Daisies that have terrific heat tolerance and an extra-compact habit. These daisys are winter hardy to USDA Zones 10-11 and they are grown as an annual in other cooler climatic zones.
