Coreopsis - Plains Dwarf Bicolor

The Coreopsis Plains Dwarf Bicolor, 'Coreopsis tinctoria (Calliopsis)', is a cheerful member of the Sunflower family and will delight gardeners with its vivid yellow and maroon flowers and feathery green foliage. The Coreopsis Dwarf Bicolor is very easy to grow and displays brilliant, easy color with continuous blooms. The flowers are 1 to 2 inches across and have a deep burgundy center. They are also known as the 'Golden Wave'. They will survive a mild frost. Plant this Coreopsis in the spring after the last average frost date or late in the fall in mild winter climates . They prefer full sun and will thrive in ordinary garden soil. This Coreopsis has edible flowers and is very decorative in salads. The foliage is dill scented. They are often used for cut flowers.
