Dahlia - Mignon Silver

This Dahlia is easy to grow and makes an excellent cut flower. Place then in rich, well drained soils. The large 3 inch pure white flowers bloom continually from summer through fall. Plant in the spring after the last frost. Remove spent flowers to encourage continuous blooming. The Dahlia Mignon Silver, 'Dahlia variabilis', has elegant, pure white flowers that are most enjoyed during the evening as the the twilight dulls other garden colors. For white flower lovers, this beautiful flower is a must for your beds, borders, or large containers. Pepper - Bell - Mandarin Even under cooler conditions, Mandarin produces very sweet and tasty peppers. The Pepper Bell Mandarin, 'Capsicum annuum (Hybrid)', has a unique glossy orange color with very sweet flavor that combines beautifully with red, yellow and green peppers in a colorful salad. Peppers use quite a bit of water but prefer to be watered deeply and not too often. Note: To get a jump on the season transplant outside, use a walls-of-water or some black plastic to maintain and increase temperatures. Pinch off early flowers to encourage plant growth. Plant in average garden soil with sufficient organic matter. Mandarin Bell Peppers turns from green to an impressive glossy, deep pumpkin-orange color. Blossom pruning will improve fruit size. Pinch off about 50% of the flowers. If you enjoy the sweet flavor of red and yellow peppers, you may really like the unique sweet flavor of the Mandarin. Transplant outside in the spring 3 to 4 weeks after last frost date.
