Daisy - Dandenong Daisy™ Purple Blush
The Daisy Dandenong Daisy ™ Purple Blush, 'Osteospermum hybrid', a Proven Selections plant, originates from Australia's Dandenong Mountain Range. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage additional bloom. The beautiful purple blush flowers are attractive and the compact habit exhibits excellent heat-tolerance. Dandenong daisy's are a unique series of long-blooming Osteos. These daisys are winter hardy to USDA Zones 10-11 and they are grown as an annual in other cooler climatic zones. The deeply cut, dark green leaves are aromatic when bruised. Daisy's require a sunny spot with fertile, well-drained soil and should be kept well watered in the summer. For zones 9-11, this plant can also be a perennial. The daisy is attractive to bees, butterflies and/or birds, plus they are resistant to deer. Herb - Berggarten Sage Berggarten Sage is a special selection of the common Garden Sage. Berggarten translates to mountain garden which is one of the gardening areas of a larger estate, Herrenhauser, in Hanover, Germany. The bright green growth of the new leaves becomes soft downy gray older growth. Grown in full sun the plant develops a purplish cast. The large oval leaves are a change from the narrow pointed leaves of Garden Sage, but the flavor is just as good or better. Trim often by taking three or four inches of new growth.
