The Daisy Dandenong Daisy ™ Purple Blush, 'Osteospermum hybrid', a Proven Selections plant, originates from Australia's Dandenong Mountain Range. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage additional bloom. The beautiful purple blush flowers are attractive and the compact habit exhibits excellent heat-tolerance. Dandenong daisy's are a unique series of long-blooming Osteos. These daisys are winter hardy to USDA Zones 10-11 and they are grown as an annual in other cooler climatic zones. The deeply cut, dark green leaves are aromatic when bruised. Daisy's require a sunny spot with fertile, well-drained soil and should be kept well watered in the summer. For zones 9-11, this plant can also be a perennial. The daisy is attractive to bees, butterflies and/or birds, plus they are resistant to deer. Herb - Berggarten Sage Berggarten Sage is a special selection of the common Garden Sage. Berggarten translates to mountain garden which is one of the gardening areas of a larger estate, Herrenhauser, in Hanover, Germany. The bright green growth of the new leaves becomes soft downy gray older growth. Grown in full sun the plant develops a purplish cast. The large oval leaves are a change from the narrow pointed leaves of Garden Sage, but the flavor is just as good or better. Trim often by taking three or four inches of new growth. Plant in a full sun location. This plant is attractive to bees, butterflies and/or birds.
