Daisy - Soprano Purple
The beautiful clear colors and versatility make this Proven Winner series exceptional. The daisy is attractive to bees, butterflies and/or birds, plus they are resistant to deer. They have large purple flowers with a compact growth habit. These beauties make a unique addition to any combination. Daisy's require a sunny spot with fertile, well-drained soil and should be kept well watered in the summer. They’re heat-tolerant, so they won’t shy away from hot summer conditions and full sun. For zones 9-11, this plant can also be a perennial. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage additional bloom. The Daisy Soprano Purple 'Osteospermum hybrid', exhibits slightly cupped Daisies that have terrific heat tolerance and an extra-compact habit. These daisys are winter hardy to USDA Zones 10-11 and they are grown as an annual in other cooler climatic zones. Tomato - Jet Star Soak to depth of 6 to 10 inches when watering. The Tomato Jet Star, 'Lycopersicon lycopersicum', produces tasty, mild-flavored fruits that matures early with tremendous yields. In warm winter/hot summer areas, tomatoes can be planted in early fall for winter harvest. Tomatoes prefer well drained soil that is high in organic matter. The indeterminate vines produce heavily with or without support, but support is recommended. This early variety is compact and provides good flavor and low acidity. Tomatoes need at least 1 inch of water a week. Jet Star is a great slicing variety. Tomatoes should be planted outside after the last average frost date. |
