False Spirea

Prune in late winter to early spring. Mass for erosion control on banks and slopes. The False Spirea, 'Sorbaria sorbifolia', also known as Ural False Spirea, produces sprays of beautiful white flowers in late spring and early summer. The False Spirea may be cut close to the ground to rejuvenate new growth. The leaves are deep green and quite attractive. Also useful in screens or shrub borders. Weigela - Red Prune older branches after they finish blooming. Foliage is deep, purple-tinted green and forms a compact mound, reaching 6' when mature. It grows best in full sun to partial sun. The Red Weigela, Weigela Vaniceki, is a deciduous shrub with dark red flowers. Prefers well-drained soil. It is a full sized plant with good hardiness.
