Forsythia - Gold Tide™

Gold Tide is easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soils, in full sun to part shade, but the best flower production is in full sun. They do well on sunny areas of open woodland gardens. With its compact-spreading shape, it typically grows to only 20” tall but spreading to as much as 4’ wide. When in zone 4, this plant needs adequate snow cover for a consistent spring bloom. You need to prune immediately after spring flowering. Gold Tide™ Forsythia, Forsythia 'Courtasol' (PP9,104) is a compact shrub that has an abundance of bright lemon-yellow flowers blooming in early spring, creating quite the color show when mass planted. Butterfly Bush - White In USDA Zones 5 and 6, this plant will often die to the ground in winter and therefore is often grown in the manner of an herbaceous perennial. This deciduous bush becomes weedy and sparse with diminished flowering performance if not grown in full sun. Does poorly in wet conditions. Even if plants do not die to the ground in winter, they usually grow more vigorously, produce superior flowers and maintain a better shape if cut to the ground in late winter each year. The White Butterfly bush, Buddleia davidii 'Alba', is easily grown in average, medium wet, well-drained soil in full sun. Removal of spent flower spikes during the growing season will encourage additional bloom, but consider leaving final blooms in place to facilitate reseeding.
