Gateway Joe-Pye Weed

Eupatorium ‘Gateway Joe-Pye Weed’ should be planted in full sun, but can tolerate some afternoon shade. It is a great background plant but does need a lot of room to grow. ‘Joe Pye Weed’ looks wonderful with Rudbeckia ‘Black Eyed Susan’, Aster ‘Woods Purple’, with ornamental grasses or in a perennial border. With beautiful wine red stems that develop large green leaves, it is a definite attractor to butterflies and bees and is deer resistant. ‘Joe-Pye Weed’ is more compact and shorter than other perennials in its family. Make sure it has a moist, well-drained area for optimal success. A great plant for a beginner gardener. The Geranium Midnight Reiter, 'Pelargonium', has rich, true blue flowers that bloom from June till August. With its beautiful dark purple foliage, it has a plant width of 12” and a height of 6”. For best results, plant in a dry to moist area in a well-drained site.
