The Ornamental Grass 'Dallas Blues Switch Grass', 'Panicum 'Dallas Blues' PPAF', also known as Switch Grass, is one of the finest native ornamental grasses. This fast grower has blue foliage and tan to pink flower spikes that appear in late summer to early fall. Extremely heat and humidity tolerant, it will do wonderful in drier areas. Dianthus - Rubys Tuesday The Dianthus 'Rubys Tuesday', Dianthus Hybrid, has flowers that are a deep red carnation with a sweet fragrance. Their very compact habit and free blooming nature make the 'Ruby Tuesday' Dianthus a stand out both in container gardens and perennial borders. Dianthus will bloom from mid summer to early fall. In order for a longer bloom time, deadhead the blooms continuously throughout the summer. Dianthus needs a sunny site with well-drained soil, but will tolerate some shade in the afternoon and humidity. These fragrant, spicy dove like flowers look wonderful as a border plant, rock gardens, along walks or paths, for edging and a definite in cottage gardens.
