Grass - Shenandoah Switch
This one starts out red in June, by mid-summer it looks like Bloodgrass, and in fall, it is a rich burgundy. Given full sun and average soil, it is a slow grower. This plant will grow in dry to moist soils or well-drained, loamy, sandy or clay soils with a pH of a neutral to slightly alkaline. It is one of the shortest Switch Grass varieties available. The foliage starts out as deep green but takes on the red color thru the summer. It's attributes include naturalizing, attracting birds and suitable for cut and dried flowers.
