Gunnera - Great
Bold, rich green leaves grow amazingly fast. Grows to 10' tall and 10' wide after a couple of years. Needs protection against frost, preferably with mulch of their own foliage. Great Gunnera makes a dramatic statement and is an exotic, stunning perennial. Best grown solitary near a pond or stream, and in deep moist soils. It is an enormous plant usually seen at the water-side or in wet soil. The Great Gunnera, 'Gunnera manicata', is a plant with enormous proportions.
