The large blooms of 'Chater's Nigra Hollyhock' flower in the summer months. The Nigra Hollyhock, 'Alcea rosea', has large single, very dark maroon to almost black flowers. Alcea is a wonderful plant near the back of the border, working great along walls or fences. The Hollyhock family is made up of a rather large group that exhibits tall stature (4-6') and is biennial in nature. (The darkest flower in this family). Golden Marguerite - Dwarf Charming The Dwarf Golden Marquerite, 'Anthemis tinctoria ‘Charme’, has daisy-like, 1” bright yellow flowers. Anthemis ‘Charme’ has a plant height of 12-16” and should be planted in full sun. It will bloom from May to October and will accept poor soil conditions, being drought tolerant. It is a sure garden pleaser.
