Honeysuckle - Emerald Mound

The flashy and fragrant flowers will attract hummingbirds and butterflies all summer long. It has an attractive mounding form. The summer blooming flowers are yellow-white and produce dark red berries in fall. Prune to shape after flowering. Many honeysuckles will thrive in containers as well. Emerald Mound Honeysuckle, Lonicera xylosteum 'Emerald Mound', is one of the earliest plants to leaf out in the spring with refreshing light green foliage. Easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade, Emerald Mound prefers moist, loamy soils. It typically grows to 3' tall with a slightly larger spread. The profuse, yellow flowers of forsythia are considered by many to be the first sure sign of spring. Allow plenty of room for plant to spread. Withstands city conditions. Often used to control erosion on steep slopes because tips of branches root naturally and plants spread easily. It grows at a rapid rate and is long-lived.
