Hosta - Great Expectations

A great choice for any beginner gardener. Hosta ‘Great Expectations’ needs to be planted in a full shade area in any moist, well-drained location. The Hosta Great Expectations, 'Hosta sieboldiana', has puckered heart shaped leaves with creamy yellow centers and irregular blue-green edges. The white flowers bloom from July to August, however, Hosta’s are not known for their flowers. With a plant height of 24” and a spread of 36”, Hosta’s provide bright color in shade with wonderful foliage. Lungwort - Raspberry Splash The Pulmonaria 'Raspberry Splash', also known as Lungwort or Bethlehem Sage, is a great ground cover for any shady area, helping to lighten up parts of the garden. The foliage is fuzzy and dark green, speckled with silver with raspberry blooms in May. ‘Raspberry Splash’ has a plant height of 12” and a spread of 18-23”. ‘Raspberry Splash’ is a vigorous grower and resistant to slugs and great for a first time gardener. It is a wonderful contrast with hostas, under shrubs and along paths. ‘Raspberry Splash’ needs to be planted in a full shaded area with well-drained soil.
