The oval to lance-shaped, shiny green and slightly wavy foliage, makes this variety very striking. Hosta ‘Lancifolia’ needs to be planted in a full shade area in any moist, well-drained area. The Hosta ‘Lancifolia’ was reported to be the first Hosta in America. The dark purple flowers bloom from July to August, however, Hosta’s are not known only for their flowers. Thyme - Golden King Gorgeous when spilling out of primary-colored containers or window boxes. Similar in color and fragrance to Doone Valley but with a semi-trailing habit. Gold dappled leaves are the base for a summer bloom of lavender pink flowers. Maybe that explains why consumers seem unable to resist these particularly choice varieties.
