Immortelle - Double Mix

The Immortelle begins to bloom in early summer and continues through summer. The Immortelle Double Mix, 'Xeranthemum annuum', provides shaggy everlasting daisies on long stems. The Double Mix Immortelle prefers full sun and any well drained garden soil. The Immortelle is excellent for cut flowers, flower borders, or in wildflower plantings. Plant in the early spring, 2 to 3 weeks before the last spring frost. They are essential for dried flowers bouquets and wreaths. The full, 1 to 2 inch wide fully double daisies, range in color from shades of pink, white, and purplish/wine. They do well in dry, infertile soils. Swiss Chard - Italian White Ribbed Chard grows best in in well drained soil with lots of organic matter. In warm climates, plant in late summer for fall/winter crop. instead of growing beets, the plant grows wide, dark green, heavily crumpled leaves that are very tasty. White Ribbed Swiss Chard can either be steamed, stir-fried, or eaten fresh. The leaves can be harvested from late spring continuing all the way to the first frost. Swiss Chard is a green that many seasoned gardeners claim everyone must grow. The Italian White Ribbed Swiss Chard will grow in heat and cold, is nutritious, and has a long harvest period.
