This is probably the most famous of the Louisiana irises. Louisiana Iris Black Gamecock makes a stunning bouquet. A wet spot in your garden or meadow is even bette,r and they like full sun, but will flower well even in light shade. The Louisiana Iris Black Gamecock, 'Iris', has an intense blue-black; velvety texture. They need plenty of water, but a well-watered perennial border is fine. Four inch blooms are accented with a band of golden yellow. Multiplies annually to provide long-lasting color year after year.
