Leopard Plant - Othello
Ligularia ‘Othello’ should be planted in full shade in a well-drained area. Blooming from July to August, ‘Ligularia Othello’ has a plant height of 2’ and a spread of 24-36”. Use Ligularia in group or mass plantings, woodland gardens, or along streams, ponds, pools or bog gardens. New leaves emerge purplish-red but turn to brownish-green. The Ligularia ‘Othello Leopard Plant’, Ligularia dentata, is a wonderful yellow-orange, daisy-like flower with huge leathery, toothed, heart-shaped, basal leaves. Lily - Blackout (Asiatic Lily) The Asiatic Lily Blackout, 'Lilum ‘Blackout’, has extremely dark red, almost black, flowers that produces 4-5 flowers per stem. The dark green foliage makes a great contrast with its flower color. ‘Blackout’ has a plant height of 36” and is one of the newest Lily’s on the market today. Cutting the pollen off the middle of the flower, not letting it touch the flower, will increase the bloom time on Lily’s. Blooming in mid to late June, ‘Blackout’ should be planted in full sun and in a well drained soil. Proven to be resistant to rots and virus, it should not be left out of the perennial garden. |
