Lobelia - Cascade Mixed Colors
The Cascade of Color Lobelia prefers full sun and in very hot climates, some afternoon shade is recommended. It prefers fertile, rich, well drained soils. Cascade of Colors will bloom from early spring to early summer, in warm climates they will bloom winter and into the spring. The 1/2 inch tubular flowers are blue, lilac, red, ruby, and white. Plant in the spring after the last average frost date or in mild areas, and plant in late summer for winter color. They are very effective for all-season bloom along the edges of flower beds. The Lobelia Cascade of Color, 'Lobelia erinus', displays a cascade of small jewel-toned flowers on graceful, trailing foliage. For best results, pinch tips for bushy growth, and trim lightly after the first flowers fade. They need to be kept well watered and moist. Pumpkin - Lumina The flavor and texture of the Lumina pumpkin makes it excellent for baking. Pumpkins prefer rich well drained soil that is high in organic matter. Harvest before the first light frost or when the pumpkin foliage begins to dry out. In warm climates plant in February or late summer for fall harvest. The Lumina is 8 to 10 inches in diameter and weigh 10 to 12 pounds each. The Pumpkin Lumina, 'Cucurbita maxima', is a ghostly white pumpkin is good for carving, painting or baking! Just the porch lights from other houses make Lumina glow. The soil should be kept evenly moist. Lumina is excellent for painting with its very smooth skin.
