Marjoram - Sweet

Legend has it that if you touch Sweet Marjoram before bedtime, you will dream of your future spouse. It is wonderful when used fresh in many dishes. Marjoram is used with sausage, egg dishes, cheese dishes, lamb, veal, fish, green vegetables, carrots, beef, eggplant, cauliflower, dressings, squash, and tomatoes. Sweet Marjoram is primarily used for culinary purposes. Try substituting Sweet Marjoram for Oregano in many popular dishes such as eggplant, Parmesan, or pizza. The Marjoram Sweet, 'Origanum majorana', has a sweeter, milder flavor than Oregano. Tiny white or pink flowers occur in the summer. Plant in the spring in well drained soil. They produce small round, pale, grey-green, velvety, aromatic leaves. The plants are bushy, 1 to 2 foot tall and 2 foot wide. Some describe the flavor as having a hint of balsam. ... details

 

Tomato - Cherry Sweetie The Tomato Cherry Sugar Sweetie, 'Lycopersicon lycopersicum', is a highly regarded, perfect cherry tomato for classic tomato flavor in salads or right out of the garden. The Sugar Sweetie has large numbers of 3/4 to 1 inch cherry tomatoes that are produced in grape-like clusters on 2 foot tall plants. They are an excellent container variety. They may also be seeded outside after the last average frost date. In warm winter/hot summer areas, tomatoes can be planted in early fall for winter harvest. Tomatoes prefer well drained soil that is high in organic matter.
