Parsley - Italian Flat
The Parsley Italian Dark Green Flat, 'Petroselinum crispum var neapolitanum', is prized by gourmets as the most flavorful of all parsleys. The flat-leaved parsley is superior for flavor. Do you love and grow roses? Grown near roses, parsley is thought to improve the scent and health of roses. The leaf of the Flat Parsley is larger than Green River Parsley. The flat, dark leaf appears on fleshy stems 8 to 10 inches long. Parsley is quite cold hardy and stays green and harvestable through much of the winter, even in cold climates. The Italian Dark Green Flat Parsley is the variety preferred by gourmet cooks. It both enhances and dilutes strong flavors such as onions or garlic. Grass - Blue Eyed The tufts of narrow, upright bluish-green leaves lend a casual air to the flower bed or rock garden. They resemble an ornamental grass until constellations of bluish-purple star shaped flowers appear for several weeks in the spring. They may rebloom in the fall. Blue Eyed Grass prefers well drained sandy soils. They are somewhat drought tolerant but they like evenly moist soil. Plant in the early spring, 2 to 4 weeks before the last average frost date or late summer/early fall.
