Pepper - Bell - Mandarin

Plant in average garden soil with sufficient organic matter. Pinch off about 50% of the flowers. Transplant outside in the spring 3 to 4 weeks after last frost date. The Pepper Bell Mandarin, 'Capsicum annuum (Hybrid)', has a unique glossy orange color with very sweet flavor that combines beautifully with red, yellow and green peppers in a colorful salad. If you enjoy the sweet flavor of red and yellow peppers, you may really like the unique sweet flavor of the Mandarin. Peppers use quite a bit of water but prefer to be watered deeply and not too often. Mandarin Bell Peppers turns from green to an impressive glossy, deep pumpkin-orange color. Note: To get a jump on the season transplant outside, use a walls-of-water or some black plastic to maintain and increase temperatures.
