Petunia - Supertunia® Cotton Candy
Supertunias are very heat and drought tolerant once established in the ground or pot. They will provide long-term color in full sun areas throughout the season, and can grow nearly an inch a day. Supertunias are a vigorously trailing species of an ever-blooming, long-living petunia from Australia. For zones 9-11, this plant can also be a perennial. They are ideal for baskets, beds, balconies and combination plantings. They do not need to have their dead flower heads removed to continue flowering and they are not leggy. Supertunias grow fast and therefore need ample moisture and fertilizer. The Petunia Supertunias® Cotton Candy, 'Petunia hybrids', are brilliant in color and are very low maintenance. ... get more information
Begonia - Denver Lace Very attractive! The Rex Begonias are kings of the Begonia World, that's why they are called Rex because that in Latin means king. The soil must be well drained. The growth habit of Rex begonias is mounding and compact in nature. These type of begonias display wildly varied leaves streaked, bordered, spotted, and splotched by many colors. The Begonia Denver Lace, 'Begonia rex hybrids', a Great American Cities ™ Begonias, are grown for their colorful textured leaves. For zones 9-11, this plant can also be a perennial. The Denver Lace has green colored leaves with purple and white markings. Hanging baskets suit the plant's requirement for good air circulation. They also flower, but usually the flowers are overshadowed by the striking foliage. Lower light and cooler temperatures will really bring out the color in Rex begonias leaves and high light will cause all colors to fade. |
