They bloom prolifically all summer - starting earlier than Grandmother's garden Phlox - with strong colors that won't fade. Divide every 2-3 years. The large vibrant flower clusters are lovely in vases and fragrant, too! The deep green lance-shaped leaves climb the strong stems and create a dense, compact clump that is attractive even when not in bloom. The Giant Hardy Phlox Mix, 'Phlox paniculata', have colors that sing in perfect harmony, so you can plant them together in a bright chorus of summer- long bloom, or disperse them among other border perennials. Plant Phlox liberally toward the back of the perennial border, spacing them 18" apart in humus-rich, well-drained soil. Majestic, fragrant favorites for the summer border!
