Rose of Sharon - Lavender Chiffon™

Lavender Chiffon grows in any soil unless it is either really wet or dry. This deciduous shrub grows with an, prefers full sun, and reaches 8-10 feet in height. Lavender Chiffon™ Hibiscus, Hibiscus syriacus 'Notwoodone' (PP12,619), has large, single lavender flowers adorned with a lacy center to create an anemone-like bloom that bloom in late summer It is beautiful for use in a mixed container to create a dramatic focal point. This great large shrub can be used for landscapes and the young plants can be used in containers, but will need to be moved to the landscape as they mature. Butterfly Bush - White Even if plants do not die to the ground in winter, they usually grow more vigorously, produce superior flowers and maintain a better shape if cut to the ground in late winter each year. This deciduous bush becomes weedy and sparse with diminished flowering performance if not grown in full sun. The White Butterfly bush, Buddleia davidii 'Alba', is easily grown in average, medium wet, well-drained soil in full sun. In USDA Zones 5 and 6, this plant will often die to the ground in winter and therefore is often grown in the manner of an herbaceous perennial. Does poorly in wet conditions. Removal of spent flower spikes during the growing season will encourage additional bloom, but consider leaving final blooms in place to facilitate reseeding.
