Russian Cypress
It is very adaptable to poor, dry, thin soils in sun and wind exposed sites. The foliage develops a showy bronze color in the winter. It can be used as a woody groundcover for foundations, wall plantings where it can cascade, group or mass plantings, raised planters, and embankments. Russian Cypress likes full sun to partial shade, and its best performance occurs in partial sun in moist, well-drained soils. It has a radiating mat growth habit and a rather slow growth rate. It matures at about 1foot tall by 6 feet wide, although it can get taller and much wider. Siberian Peashrub The small leaflets are medium green in color. When planting for hedge, place plants about 4-5feet apart. The bark of the trunk and stems retain a greenish color for several years. It has showy yellow pea like flowers that appear in late May. The Peashrubs are cold and drought tolerant. Often used as a windbreak or tall informal hedge. Siberian Peasshrubs are deciduous and have low water requirements, and a moderate salt & alkali tolerance. |
