Salvia - Black and Blue

The dark, denim blue flowers with black bases appear to be made by a flower designer because of its striking beauty. This eye catching Salvia offers abundant deep blue cobalt blue tubular blooms that are an absolute favorite of hummingbirds. The Salvia Black and Blue, 'Salvia guaranitica', is a tall and attractive plant that has an upright growth habit which reaches 2 to 3 feet in height. The Black and Blue Salvia mixes well with other beautiful summer flowering perennials. The bi-colored blooms are 3/4 of an inch in size and occur in both spring and the fall. It enjoys warm tempatures and is moderately drought tolerant. This selection of the hardy anise sage differs from the norm in that the calyx (the little cup that holds the open flower) is black instead of the usual green. Supertunias are a vigorously trailing species of an everblooming, long-living petunia from Australia. The Petunia Supetunia ® White, 'Petunia hybrids', are brilliant in color and are very low maintenance. For zones 9-11, this plant can also be a perennial. Supertunias grow fast and therefore need ample moisture and fertilzer. The White has beautiful white flowers. They are ideal for baskets, beds, balconies and combination plantings.
