It has a plant height of 18” and a spread of 18-24” and stays in excellent compact form. Selected Perennial Plant of the year in 1997, one can see why. With its blue-gray, lance-shaped aromatic foliage, it makes an attractive accent all summer long. ‘May Night’ is a magnet for butterflies, bees and hummingbirds and is deer-resistant. Salvia ‘May Night’ should be planted in full sun in a moist well-drained area. The Salvia ‘May Night’, Salvia nemorosa ‘Mainacht’, has glowing purple stems loaded with violet-purple flowers that bloom from June to October. Blooms look wonderful next to Sedum ‘Matrona’, Achillea 'Coronation Gold', and Saliva ‘Snow Hill’. It is hardy for container gardening and provides excellent cut flowers. To increase bloom time, it should be cut back after the first bloom. ... details
