Salvia - Purple Rain

Blooms look wonderful next to Sedum ‘Matrona’, Achillea 'Coronation Gold' and Salvia ‘Snow Hill’. Salvia ‘Purple Rain’ should be planted in full sun in a moist well-drained area. To increase bloom time, it should be cut back after the first bloom. ‘Purple Rain’ is a magnet for butterflies, bees and hummingbirds and is deer-resistant. It has a plant height of 18” and a spread of 12-18” and stays in excellent compact form. With its dark green basal leaves and aromatic foliage, it makes an attractive accent all summer long. It is hardy for container gardening and provides excellent cut flowers. The Salvia ‘Purple Rain’, Salvia verticillata, has glowing purple stems loaded with masses of deep purple flowers that bloom from June to October. ... additional information

 

Yarrow - Yellow The foliage has a somewhat strong, spicy aroma, which persists when used in dried arrangements. ‘Anthea’ has good texture and form and looks great in mass plantings and cottage gardens and is more vigorous and heat tolerant than Achillea ‘Moonshine’. (Avoid heavy clays and moist, rich, fertile soils. ) Yarrow should be planted in full sun and is tolerant of hot humid summers. Remove faded flowers to encourage more growth and divide every 3-4 years.
