Scabiosa - Blanca

The Scabiosa 'Blanca, Scabiosa Hybrid, is a small flowered form of the Pincushion Flower and it exhibits a a compact habit. 'Blancat' is a reminiscent of a pincushion full of pins. With its gray-green foliage, it has a plant height of 8” and a spread of 12-18", not to mention being disease resistant. It is best to plant Scabiosa in full sun, with well-drained soil and should be watered regularly throughout the warmer months to increase its overall performance. Mullein - Jackie The Verbascum Jackie, 'Verbascum hybridum', also known as Mullein, a Proven Winners selection, has masses of copper colored buds which open to pale cantaloupe blooms with pink overtones. The stalks arise off of fuzzy gray-green leaves, which add contrast to the flower color. ‘Jackie’ has a plant height of 16-18” and a plant spread of 1-2’ and blooms from late spring into summer. Removing spent flowers to encourage additional bloom time. This low maintenance perennial requires dry to medium soil and should be planted in full sun for best results. Verbascum will tolerate a wide range of soil conditions but must have good drainage or it could be fatal. ‘Jackie’ can be planted in rocky slopes to add color, as a border plant or in cottage gardens.
