The Silene Rollies Favourite, Silene Robotii 'Rollies Favourite' is a very rewarding perennial. It has beautiful, rich pink flowers the bloom on top of low-growing mounds of dark green foliage. Rollies Favourite starts blooming in May and continues throughout the summer into July. It requires full sun to partial sun and average well-drained soil. Mountian Bluet - Gold Bullion The Centaurea ‘Gold Bullion’, Centaurea montana, has small thistle-like single flowers at the end of a delicate stem, being bright blue and very showy. With a height of 18-24” and a plant width of 18-24”, it is an excellent late summer to early fall bloomer. The foliage color of ‘Gold Bullion’ is more unique than the rest. If cut back after blooming, it will continue to produce new blooms throughout the season. Centaurea ‘Gold Bullion’ is tolerant of cool winters. (Full sun to part shade may give this plant better leaf color. ) The gray-green, lance-shaped foliage add contrast to this plant. This plant knows no serious insect or disease problems. Use Centaurea ‘Gold Bullion’ massed in border fronts, cottage gardens or naturalized areas. For planting with other perennials, try ‘Illumination’ Vinca, ‘Variegated’ Sedum or Echinacea ‘Purple Coneflower’.
