Smokebush - Golden Spirit
The Smokebush Golden Spirit, 'Cotinus coggygria 'Golden Spirit', is a recent introduction from Europe. It can be late to leaf out in spring and may suffer dieback at -25F. 'Golden Spirit' will tolerate dry soil and does require full sun. With a plant width of 6-8' and a plant height of 8-10', the leaf color lasts all season, turning brilliant shades or coral and orange into the fall. White blossoms appear in June to July when this deciduous shrub blooms with long, plume-like panicles of smoky-white flowers. ... more
Willow - Japanese Then you see the pink summer foliage and in the fall and winter the striking red stems. The Japanese Willow has 4 season interest. Regular pruning will promote a denser and bushier plant. Great as a container plant. In the spring, before it leafs out, it produces hundreds of slender catkins that contrast brilliantly against the deep red stems. |
