Spirea - Sparkling Carpet

Since it grows only 6-10 inches tall and 15-18 inches wide, it can be used as a groundcover or bedding plant! It would also be good for filling a space in a shrub border. It looks like a tiny version of ‘Gold Flame’ and produces few pink flowers in summer. No pruning is required. The leaves are bronze-red when young, then turn mahogany-red in fall. Sparkling Carpet Spirea, spiraea japonica 'Sparkling Carpet' (PP13,665), is a fine-textured, small spreading shrub with lime-gold leaves. Native to China and Japan. Lilac - White Persian Introduced 1614. The White Persian Lilac, Syringa x persica 'alba', is a spreading, graceful shrub with arching branches, reaching 4 to 8 feet in height, 5 to 10 feet spread. A reasonably compact lilac for the smaller garden, and shrub border. The pale lilac flowers are fragrant, late spring blooming, abundantly produced on 2 to 3 inch long panicles.
