Sweet Bell Peppers - Red Beauty

Blossom pruning will improve fruit size. The brilliant bright red extra thick-walled bells are juicy and sweet. Pinch off early flowers to encourage plant growth. Transplant outside in the spring 3 to 4 weeks after last frost date. Pinch off about 50% of the flowers. The peppers turn from green to red when mature. Note: To get a jump on the season transplant outside, use a walls-of-water or some black plastic to maintain and increase temperatures. The Sweet Bell Pepper Red Beauty, 'Capsicum annuum', is an early, prolific variety bearing very sweet four-lobed peppers with thick walls. Peppers use quite a bit of water but prefer to be watered deeply and not too often. Plant in average garden soil with sufficient organic matter. Red Beauty peppers are widely adapted and easy to grow. They are excellent for salads, stuffing, and gourmet dishes. They also are tobacco mosaic resistant. ... more information
