The sweet, golden fruits are somewhat larger than the typical cherry tomato. Husky Cherry Gold offers a long and abundant harvest. In warm winter/hot summer areas, tomatoes can be planted in early fall for winter harvest. The Tomato Husky Cherry Gold, 'Lycopersicon lycopersicum', is an upright plant that produces 1 oz fruit. Tomatoes prefer well drained soil that is high in organic matter. Tomatoes should be planted outside after the last average frost date. Grow them staked or caged without pinching. The four foot tall plants bears loads of delicious 1 inch round fruits. Tomatoes need at least 1 inch of water a week. They need at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day.
