Turnip - Seven Top

Seven Top does not grow a turnip root. Plant in early spring, 3 to 4 weeks before the last frost or when ground temperatures reach 45 degrees. The Turnip Seven Top, 'Brassica rapa', is grown for the greens. They are tasty when steamed, stir-fried or in salads. Greens can be harvested when young and tender, usually about 6 inches tall or so. It puts all of its energy into growing the best turnip greens you have ever tasted. Successive plantings every 3 weeks until mid-summer can provide continuous greens. There simply are no other greens that have as much calcium as turnip greens. There are not many greens more nutritious and tasty. There is nothing like the smell of basil. Place the Basil seeds in well drained soil with lots of organic matter. Genovese basil will not disappoint the basil lover.
