Viburnum - Dwarf European Cranberrybush

It is a low maintenance shrub, and is excellent as a foundation plant or low hedge. Dwarf European Cranberrybush, viburnum opulus 'Nanum', is a small, mounded, dense shrub that has compact branching and small green foliage that develops a burgundy fall color. Despite not fruiting and flowering, it can be an interesting deciduous shrub, small and mounded, much more densely leafed than the majority of viburnum. It scarcely ever develops the white flowers, let alone cranberries. The trunk is stout, upright, and straight when young, becoming slightly ridged, furrowing, and arching with maturity. It grows 2-3 feet tall and 2-4 feet wide.
