Weeping Willow

The usual reference is to shimmering leaves. The Weeping Willow trees are mentioned many times in literature and poetry from the time of Shakespeare. It is graceful, grows fast, and adaptable. It also is used in low moist areas like creek banks or areas that are very moist. The Weeping Willow tree, Salix Babylonica, is a rapid growing yard or landscaping tree. This deciduous tree has leaves that are thin and narrow, sometimes with whitened or silky undersides. It is one of the first trees to leaf out in the spring and one of the last to drop leaves in the fall. The Weeping Willow has pendulous weeping branches, a short trunk, and has a broad rounded crown. Trident Maple The Trident Maple is a very popular species for bonsai, due to its small, three-lobed leaves, a readily-thickening trunk, and thick, gnarly roots which adapt well to root-over-rock style. It has enormous use for the home, commercial, or municipal property. The Trident Maple has beautiful 3-inch-wide, tri-lobed leaves, glossy green above and paler underneath, which turn various shades of red, orange, and yellow in autumn. With its moderate growth rate, attractive orange-brown peeling bark, and easy maintenance, the Trident Maple is popular as a patio or street tree. Makes a nice small tree that can tolerate urban conditions, ie; confined root space, pollution, and heat and drought. Trident Maple trees naturally exhibit low spreading growth and multiple stems but can be trained to a single trunk and pruned to make it branch higher, allowing passage below its broad, oval to rounded canopy.
