Yarrow - Common-White Milfoil

The Yarrow Commom White Milfoil, 'Achillea millefolium', is an incredibly fast growing lawn substitute or ground cover for dry areas. It is winter hardy in any climate. This Yarrow is a mat forming, weed suppressing ground cover. Common White Milfoils are fire resistant, drought tolerant, spreads rapidly, and is very cold tolerant. The small 1/8 inch pure white flowers appear in flat clusters atop long stems. They bloom from late spring into early fall. Common White Milfoils must have well drained or relatively dry soils. They cannot tolerate soggy soils. They also grow well in alkaline or acid soils. Plant in the spring after the last average frost date or late summer/early fall. Fennel - Bronze-Smokey The Bronze Fennel is an absolutely dazzling, hard to find Fennel, that is used primarily for ornamental value and has tasty foliage and seeds. The tall feathery, smoky purple foliage provides a beautiful accent with pink and white roses or any other contrasting flower color. The Bronze Fennel attracts butterflies. The swallowtail butterfly lays eggs on fennel. Plant in the spring 2 weeks before the last average frost date. Fennel does best in well drained, sandy soils with lots of organic matter.
