Yarrow - Common-White Milfoil

It is winter hardy in any climate. This Yarrow is great in many climates from sea to mountains. They also grow well in alkaline or acid soils. Common White Milfoils are fire resistant, drought tolerant, spreads rapidly, and is very cold tolerant. This Yarrow is a mat forming, weed suppressing ground cover. They bloom from late spring into early fall. Common White Milfoils must have well drained or relatively dry soils. Plant in the spring after the last average frost date or late summer/early fall. The small 1/8 inch pure white flowers appear in flat clusters atop long stems. The Yarrow Commom White Milfoil, 'Achillea millefolium', is an incredibly fast growing lawn substitute or ground cover for dry areas.
