Lantana - Patriot Desert Sunset All Lantana's contain a toxin that if ingested may cause stomach discomfort. The Lantana is also commonly called a Shrub Verbena. The brightly colored flowers of Lantana are excellent for attracting hummingbirds and butterflies. Lantana is an excellent choice for beds or containers. Pinch off spent flowers to promote new flower growth. Lantana prefers moist soil, but is drought tolerant.
